VCU Fulbright Gateway Orientation 2012 Virginia Commonwealth University welcomes all Fulbright Orientation attendees to Richmond, Virginia August 28-30, 2012. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey!

The Global Education Office at Virginia Commonwealth University is excited that you will be joining us this August for the Fulbright Gateway Orientation. One of the nation’s top research universities, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) enrolls more than 32,000 students on two Richmond campuses – the Monroe Park Campus and MCV Campus. Studying and living in a foreign country is both an exciting and a challenging experience. We want your stay in Richmond to be as productive and enjoyable as possible, and the Global Education Office staff is here to help you in any way we can. We are looking forward to meeting you as you begin what we are sure will be a memorable experience in the United States. The Global Education Office has planned an exciting series of educational and social events during your time in Richmond. All of the activities are designed to help you better understand your role and responsibilities as a Fulbrighter and to develop skills for successful academic and professional lives in the United States. The VCU Global Education Office airport shuttle will be available to transport students from the Richmond International Airport to the DoubleTree Hotel on Monday, August 27th at the following times: 10:30am, 12:15pm, 4:15pm, 5:45pm and 6:45pm.

Please plan to fly to the Richmond International Airport, which is located approximately 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) from VCU, only about a 15 to 20 minute car ride.

While at VCU, Fulbright Fellows will visit the Tredegar Iron Works museum. Tredegar Iron Works overlooks the James River and played an important part in the American Civil War by providing iron to the confederate army.
