When the clouds broke over a Costa Rican beach, Jerrica Miles looked up to see the Milky Way and out toward the water to see a leatherback sea turtle coming ashore to nest.

She never imagined her studies with IU Online at Indiana University would include a night like this.

That night was part of a nine-day research trip made possible for Jerrica by two Indiana University East scholarships. She and 10 other students conducted fieldwork across Costa Rica, studying tropical ecosystems and supporting conservation work at the Pacuare Reserve.

Read about the research, wildlife and the night Jerrica will never forget: https://bit.ly/3Ugkidx

Today was another great day in the School of Education. Four years ago, we started something called "Tomorrow's Teachers Today" (T3) which was a program for high school juniors and seniors who were interested in pursuing a career in education. We had three districts and about eight students. Fast forward to today and we have ten district partners and so many students! They visited campus, met the faculty, and enjoyed the "Back with the Pack" festivities. Next year, we're bringing back the zip line!!!!
