ABOUT THE SHOW: In this powerful solo performance, Earlham Senior Helena Aleluya Jose invites us to journey with her from childhood in Luanda, Angola, through her transformative years in Germany, to her evolving sense of self as a Black African woman in the world. Weaving personal narrative with history, dance, and memory, Helena honors the legacy of her grandmother, Kapemba’tona, "the one who is awake", while grappling with race, identity, diaspora, and the burden of being misunderstood. This KCACTF Region 3 One-Act Festival Finalist is a deeply moving exploration of how ancestral resilience, cultural storytelling, and global perspective can help reclaim one’s voice.

WHAT AUDIENCES SAY:
"A Voice of Clarity, Courage, and Compassion."
"This story will stay with me for a long time."

Join us at Homecoming for a reading and response to Cameron Wooddy's new full length play, FESTIVAL OF THE FAIRY QUEEN.

We'll be in the McDaniel Studio Theatre on Saturday, October 11th at 1:30pm (during the two sample class sessions.)

ABOUT THE PLAY
The story is simple: it's a modern take on Midsummer Night's Dream where Titania is a drag queen and the lovers have a complicated history. Watch as two Earlhamites navigate a heartwarming story about what it means to accept your fate.
