Today we’re honoring the legacy of Dave Thomas, Duke Renaissance brother and founder of Wendy’s. 🍔

From opening the first Wendy’s in 1969 to becoming one of the most recognizable founders in TV history, Brother Thomas built a legacy that’s still serving millions today.

The Hoop of Steel is more than a SigEp tradition. It is a promise that brotherhood does not end at graduation.

Recently, New Jersey Beta at Rutgers welcomed family and friends to celebrate graduating seniors as they crossed into alumni status and committed themselves to a lifetime of brotherhood in Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Congratulations to these brothers as they begin their next chapter while carrying Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love with them for life.

Dirk Daveline, Kansas State ’87, shares why alumni involvement matters and how staying connected to the chapter experience can impact generations of brothers to come. This story was featured in the Kansas Beta at Kansas State alumni newsletter as part of Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Alumni Communications Program.

When alumni stay connected, chapters grow stronger through mentorship, volunteer support and lifelong brotherhood.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We also reflect on the SigEp brothers we have lost whose impact, friendship, and legacy continue to live on in our brotherhood. 🇺🇸

Their stories remind us that brotherhood is not measured only in the moments we share, but in the lasting influence we leave behind.

This Memorial Day, we pause in gratitude for all who made the ultimate sacrifice and for the brothers who will forever remain part of SigEp.

Picture: During Conclave 2015 in Nashville, SigEp veterans and active duty service members gathered at the Nashville National Cemetery to honor Lt. Colonel Kim S. Orlando, Baylor ’82, the commanding officer of the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division.

Brother Orlando was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

🎖️ May is Military Appreciation Month, and we're proud to reflect on the deep ties Sigma Phi Epsilon at Sacramento State has always had with those who serve. From active ROTC members in our chapter to brothers who joined after their time in uniform, the military community has long been part of what makes our brotherhood strong.

A perfect example is brother Nick "Tennessee" Jones — pictured here at last year's Casino Night on his birthday 🎰🎂 — who was an undergrad with us not long ago and has since stepped right back into the chapter as a mentor for programming and a valued member of our Alumni & Volunteer Corporation. This year he took the lead organizing Casino Night, and it showed — the event was a tremendous success.

Thank you, Tennessee, and thank you to every brother who has served or will serve. We are proud to stand celebrate all of you. 🤝
