OUR GOLF TOURNAMENT IS VASTLY APPROACHING ! This Saturday, Aug 29th at the Hanover Golf Course ⛳️, the Weldon H. Smith Foundation is hosting a golf tournament.

We ask that all who are available and interested in participating or sponsoring a hole reach out to us via email or DM for additional details.

Over the last week or so, brothers have gathered over the summer prior to the next fraternal year starting next month.

On Aug 15th, the Henrico Alphas had our Chapter Retreat where we fellowshipped and conversed about chapter business and what to look forward to during this upcoming fraternal year. Chapter President spoke on his expectations and ways to make our chapter much better.

4 days later, the farmersseedtosuccess hosted their inaugural scholarship giveaway to 2 young men in honor of one of our past presidents, the late Lewis Farmer. Also, a plaque of Bro. Farmer was dedicated and now hanging on the wall in Virginia Union’s Mathematics department, the same department where Bro. Farmer earned his bachelor’s degree as well as where he was employed.

Thanks to all the brothers in the area that were able to attend the ceremony and plaque reveal. Your presence does not go unnoticed!

Seven members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. competed in Berlin and won 13 medals, shattering the “master race” myth on the world stage.

When they returned home, there was no telegram.
No White House invite.

As Jesse Owens said:
“Hitler didn’t snub me. It was our president who snubbed me.”

That president was Franklin D. Roosevelt.

There Goes An Alpha Man

Join us in congratulating Bro. Jermiah “Jerry” Fitz on his appointment to Chief Deputy Director of the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) by Governor Abigail Spanberger, effective February 3, 2026.

Bro. Fitz brings nearly 30 years of experience to the role, having previously served as Deputy Director of Community Corrections, Regional Administrator for both the Central and Eastern Regions, and Chief Probation Officer.

Within Alpha, Bro. Fitz has served as President of the Xi Delta Lambda Chapter and Area Director for VACAPAF Area 5. He is a Spring 1995 initiate of the Nu Theta Chapter seated at Old Dominion University.
