From WFPR to WFPC

In 1968, Franklin Pierce’s newspaper announced the launch of a new campus radio station. By 2002, WFPR had become WFPC, reaching listeners beyond campus at 105.3 FM, expanding its programming and events, and relocating to the Fitzwater Center. Just a few months later, the building was dedicated and renamed the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication.

We hope you'll read about these two important milestones in the evolution of Raven radio! 📻

Franklin Pierce University’s Day of Giving returns Thursday, September 17, and we’re calling on our alumni community to stand with Pierce and help meet the needs of today’s students while creating opportunities for the next generation of Ravens.

Direct your support to what matters most to you: The Pierce Fund, which gives Pierce the flexibility to address immediate needs and invest where support is needed most, the team or club that made you feel at home, the scholarship that supported your academic dreams, or one of the many funds that help support our current and future Ravens.

Every gift and every Raven who participates helps strengthen Franklin Pierce and support our students.

Mark your calendar for September 17 and spread the word with friends and fellow alumni!

Give what you can. Every gift matters, whether it’s $5 or $500.
Rally your fellow Ravens. Host a challenge or matching gift to build support for a team, scholarship, fund, or program that matters to you.

Make an early gift. Get a head start and help your favorite areas reach their goals.
One Day. One Purpose. One Pierce.

A Renewed Mission: Career Development Deepens Ties Across Campus - and With You

Franklin Pierce's Office of Career Development & Employer Engagement is renewing its mission around three pillars:

Closer collaboration with faculty and staff,
Deeper classroom and program partnerships, and
Stronger campus-wide visibility through the career networking and job platform Handshake and student events.

At the center of this work is a hands-on commitment to opening doors for students and graduates alike. Since stepping into the role this July, Director Jan Coplan has already crossed paths with four alumni — proof that Raven pride only grows stronger with time.

Alumni are a vital part of that equation — as mentors, employers, and connectors. We're inviting Ravens to engage with current students, post opportunities, and help us grow a network that benefits the whole Franklin Pierce community.

Jan K. Coplan is Director of Career Development & Employer Engagement at Franklin Pierce University, bringing over 20 years in education, advising, and career counseling — including a decade leading employer relations at Landmark College. She holds an M.Ed. and has co-authored research on neurodiversity, and is committed to building lasting connections between alumni, employers, and students. She can be reached at [email protected] or on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jancoplan/
