Earlier this month, Franklin Pierce University faculty, staff, students, and alumni participated in the annual meetings for NH-LIFT and NH-INBRE, celebrating the research, mentorship, and collaboration made possible through these statewide partnerships.
Drs. Rudra Aryal and Shallee Page supported student researchers Ella Rogers, John Viens, and Eric Winitzer (not pictured) as they shared their work during the poster presentation sessions. FPU alumnus Evan Bennett also returned to share his experiences and advice during two student-track mentorship sessions, drawing on his time as a NH-INBRE-supported student researcher at FPU. Evan is now a second year Ph.D. student with Dartmouth College’s Molecular and Cellular Biology program.
FPU is in its third year as a partner in NH-LIFT, a National Science Foundation-supported initiative focused on strengthening New Hampshire’s research and innovation ecosystem, and its 17th year of NH-INBRE funding, supported by the National Institutes of Health to build biomedical research capacity and expand undergraduate research opportunities.
During the 2026 – 2027 academic year, these two programs are providing approximately $200,000 in support for faculty-led research projects at FPU, creating meaningful opportunities for students to work alongside faculty mentors, develop research skills, present their findings, and gain hands-on experience that extends well beyond the classroom.
These longstanding and growing partnerships continue to strengthen FPU’s research environment while opening doors for the next generation of student researchers.
