Elsa Balint was considering other institutions. Then she toured La Sierra University and fell in love with the campus. Meeting Dean Thomas and the professors at our Zapara School of Business sealed it: “It was very different from any other business school I’d seen. It was so one-on-one.”

Now a 2025 Presidential Scholar in International Business, Elsa says the spirit on campus stands out: friendly, community-driven, and full of ways to get involved.

Thank you for joining us at Fall Open House! 💛

On Sunday, prospective students, families, and high school counselors got a first-hand look at life at La Sierra. Guests sat in on academic breakout sessions, heard straight from current students on our Student Experience Panel, learned about the support, career, and financial aid resources available to them, and met departments from Biology to Business at the Academic & Resource Exploration Fair.

To our faculty, staff, and student volunteers: thank you for every welcoming conversation and thoughtful answer. You're the reason families leave saying, "I can see myself here."

Aging out of foster care should never mean aging out of opportunity.

For young people leaving foster care, adulthood often comes without the stability, resources, or family support their peers rely on. HOME@LASIERRA is changing that story. The program provides debt-free education, supportive housing, mentorship, and a community students can call family, and this fall it welcomed its very first students.

Last year, community leaders joined us to read words that mattered to them. This year, we’re turning the page to Chapter II.

Collin Namsang grew up in Loma Linda as an Adventist, and he wanted a university where his faith wasn’t off to the side. At La Sierra, he says, it’s “immersed within the school.”

Now a 2025 Presidential Scholar studying Biomedical Science on the pre-med track, Collin also points to small classes and the school’s drive “to make education as accessible and as affordable as possible.”
