Future Teachers,
Blue Ridge Environmental Educators, the regional team of Virginia Association for Environmental Education, is co- hosting a Watershed Education training with Clean Valley Council and the Western Virginia Water Authority. This training would make a dynamic addition to your education.
Registration for the Blue Ridge Environmental Educators’ Watershed Investigations training is open through Friday, April 27 at 5:00 pm.

The City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, Franklin County, Floyd County, and Montgomery County school districts are all offering continuing education credits for attending. Earn 6 Professional Development recertification points for attending the full day and an optional additional 5 Curriculum Writing recertification points for writing up a lesson plan using the training's content and implementing that lesson with students. Check with your school district if yours is not listed here.
Join us for a dynamic day of training that includes:
· The Best of Watershed Education – what it is and how to get from the SOLs to constructivist lesson a presentation based in both theory and practicality
· Local nonprofit resources and education outreach offerings (meet the outreach educators)
· Share Fair and Demonstrations by nonprofits and pioneering educators
· Make and take opportunities
· Experiential learning on the water and/or at the waterfront
· A closer look at best management practices, water quality testing, benthic macroinvertebrates, soil erosion, forest health
· Networking
