There's still time to submit to the Cinequest Screenwriting Competition!

All genres accepted. Especially seeking drama, comedy, thriller/mystery, sci-fi, action, bio-pic, rom-com, horror, and highly original material.

Cinequest is now accepting two new genre categories: Romance / Comedies and Sci-Fi / Thriller.

Script must be submitted in English and be properly formatted according to industry standards.

Length (not including title page):
• Feature-Length Scripts must be between 70 -125 pages
• Short Film Scripts must be 40 pages or fewer
• Teleplays (60 minutes) must be between 45-70 pages
• Teleplays (30 minutes) must be 45 pages or fewer

Late Deadline: November 13th, 2026

There’s still time to submit to the BlueCat Screenplay Competition!

Running since 1998, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition offers written feedback, industry contacts, and 8,000 dollars in cash prizes for original features and shorts every year. Every submitter receives a page of feedback on their script and has the chance to win one of the three cash prizes.

Winners of this competition include Ana Lily Amirpour, writer and director of the 2014 horror film ‘A Woman Walks Home Alone at Night’ and Aaron Guzikowski, writer of the 2013 crime-thriller ‘Prisoners’.

There’s still time to submit to the 25th Annual Script Pipeline Screenwriting Contest!

This annual contest has been offering networking opportunities and developmental assistance for 25 years. Not only does it provide a tempting cash prize of 20,000 for the winner and 1,000 each of the four finalists, they provide close mentorship and introductions to managers and industry professionals.

Pre-register Submission Deadline: December 30th, 2026($50)

Early Submission Deadline: March 5th, 2027($60)

There's still time to submit to the 2027 Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition.

Three feature film screenplays, one pilot screenplay, and one short film screenplay are chosen from submissions to take part in one-on-one mentorship meetings. Not only do they get notes on their winning screenplay, but the winners also get to build meaningful relationships with their mentors and network with the experienced crowd of filmmakers and industry insiders who attend the Atlanta Film Festival every year.

Winners of the Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition have gone on to be honored by the Black List, selected for the Sundance Directors’ Lab, sign with representation, option their winning scripts, and write/direct critically and commercially successful indie films.
