Get ready to strut, serve, and absolutely own the stage. 👢✨ Raise You Up / Just Be is the big, feel-good finale that’s all about confidence, individuality, and letting yourself be unapologetically YOU.

Expect high-energy choreography, big group moments, synchronized movement, character moments, and A LOT of personality. We’ll take inspiration from the original production, but the goal is to make it our own and have an absolute blast doing it.

And yes — the boots are a very important part of the experience. 👠

“Ya Got Trouble” is a classic musical theatre number from one of the most loved musicals from the last century, The Music Man! The Music Man is a fun and witty musical with a lot of exciting dancing and singing that still maintains an old timey feel, and “Ya Got Trouble” is a perfect example of the type of clever wordplay and fun (but not difficult) choreography from the show! We encourage everyone to apply for this number, as it’s a very easy to learn and still very upbeat!

THE BEGINNING OF THE END! This chaotic number from Spongebob the Musical is the opener of our show, and a perfect opportunity to make huge acting choices. Written by Elton John, No Control is an absolute powerhouse of a song in which characters from Bikini Bottom swim into panic about a nearby volcanic eruption that is about to devastate their town. This number has plenty of solo and ensemble opportunities, both in singing and dancing. We are looking for actors who love comedy, commotion, and will come ready to make a scene. This song features an ensemble chant section too, so if you’d like to try something new or don’t feel super confident singing, you should definitely come audition!!

For our final Senior Spotlight: Jonah Stapels!! If OBOC had a mascot, it would be Jonah Stapels. Jonah has spent his college years dedicated to OBOC: recruiting new members, playing drums in the pit, and slaying on the stage! We are heartbroken to let Jonah go because while he is an amazing performer, he is also a wonderful person to be around. Good luck at grad school Jonah, we’ll miss you!!

This next Spotlight is for someone who has done so much for OBOC, Sasha Lifchez!! Sasha has spent their whole college experience with OBOC, helping manage our club as the Vice President for a big chunk of it! Sasha, on top of being incredibly talented, has a great sense of humor and was always available to help if someone needed it! Now we move to our next Senior Spotlight: April Wang!! April has played such a crucial role in our pit orchestra, being the pit conductor for so long and being so insanely talented that she can fill in for a variety of different instruments! The pit isn’t going to be the same next semester without April’s humor and spirit, but we are super excited to see what she does in the future, whether it be music related or not!
