Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. - Nu Nu Chapter was chartered on April 25, 1987 at Oakland University by “The Renaissance 10”. These ladies were the first group of young women to embark on the journey to membership of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. All ten members were initiated into the sorority on April 4

, 1987. Their charter and official chapter name was given at the regional meeting of the Great Lakes on April 25, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On Wednesday, Soror Peterson and Soror Struggs represented the Nu Nu chapter at the 48th Annual Student Activities and Leadership Awards hosted by the Office of Student Involvement!

At the awards the chapter won Fraternity and Sorority Life Program of the Year for our Community Baby Shower held in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated () and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated ()! 💙🤍❤️🩷

And Soror Peterson was recognized as the Fraternity and Sorority Life New Member of the Year. Congratulations Soror and keep being a representative of your chapter! 🕊️

This past weekend Soror Peterson, Soror Struggs, and Soror Akins attended the 91st Great Lakes Regional Leadership Conference in Downtown Detroit. 🕊️

At the conference Sorors were able to have an active roll in business proceedings, attend educational workshops, and network with other Sorors and members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Additionally, the Nu Nu chapter took home 3rd place in the region for their chapter report. Congratulations ladies and keep being finer! 🥉

March is reading month! 📖🤍 Last week Soror Fuqua had the opportunity to be a guest reader for kindergarten-6th graders at Henderson Academy.

The goal was to encourage students to read on their own in an attempt to raise literacy rates. She was one of many D9 members who visited the school throughout the month of March to support this initiative.

From start to finish, we wanted to highlight community, growth, scholarship, and a plethora of other things to make this week unforgettable! To close off our week, we wanted to give back to the community we support and who also supports us.

We chose to uplift those who embodied service and the power of giving back!🕊️

Congratulations to our Nezerena Graves Memorial Nursing Scholarship recipients, Victoria Reyes and Nicholas Sally, for their dedication to the nursing profession. We also celebrate our Finer Woman of Impact, Asia Mason, whose leadership and commitment continue to inspire those around her.

The most exciting week of the year is FINE-ally upon us! 🕊️ The women of the Nu Nu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated proudly present Zetaville Festival: Finer Womanhood Week 💙🤍

Join us March 16th – March 20th, 2026 as we celebrate service, scholarship, sisterhood, and finer womanhood with a week full of impactful events for the Oakland University community.

We’re also excited to highlight two amazing opportunities this week:
