Shahzeb “Shazzy” Jadoon is a researcher, leader, and community builder. Originally from Lahore, Pakistan, he is a graduate student in the computer engineering MS program at RIT. His research focuses on autonomous systems and neuromorphic computing, exploring how machines can process information in ways inspired by the human brain.

Outside the lab, Shahzeb plays a major role in campus life as the 2025–2026 graduate senator for the student government and a peer advisor leader supporting international students. When he’s not researching or serving the campus community, you’ll find him playing sand volleyball or exploring Rochester’s hiking trails.

His advice for new graduate students: “Be bold. Ask questions. Explore beyond your department and build the network that will shape your future.”

She challenged her students to do two things: fail at something new and be exceptional in their own way. The result? Huge creative leaps from students who had never even touched charcoal before. New blog post:

I was assigned to teach Drawing for Non-Majors or ITDI-211 at the undergraduate level. My students came from all across RIT, with majors ranging from computer science and cybersecurity to biology, game design, and political science. At first, teaching students who weren’t familiar with the structu...
