Planning to Graduate This Summer? Apply by May 31

If you’re completing your final graduate coursework in Summer 2026, it’s time to apply for graduation. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2026 — don’t miss it

Why You Need to Apply
All graduate students must apply for graduation through SAIL, even if you do not plan to attend the commencement ceremony. Applying ensures your degree is officially awarded once all requirements are met. Your application to graduate is what tells the Graduate School team that your final degree audit needs to be done for awarding Summer 2026 degree recipients.

What You Need to Do
Step 1: Meet with Your Program Coordinator
• Before applying, schedule a meeting with your graduate program coordinator. They will help you confirm that you’ve completed (or are on track to complete) all required courses, credits and academic milestones for your degree.
Step 2: Apply to Graduate in SAIL
• Once you’ve confirmed your eligibility:
• Log into your SAIL account.
• Locate the “Student Services” section.
• Click “Apply to Graduate.”
• Follow the step-by-step instructions to complete your application.
You must submit your application no later than May 31, 2026.

What Happens Next?
• Graduation Term (Degree Awarded): August 2026.
• Commencement Ceremony: December 2026 (Fall Ceremony).
• Watch your email for details about ordering regalia, attending commencement and other next steps.

Questions?
For more information and FAQs, please visit the Graduate School website. If you have questions about your graduation eligibility or the application process, reach out to your program coordinator or contact the Graduate School for assistance.
