History is the study of the many worlds of the past, using evidence, imagination, and analytical tools. It is an exploration of cultures, times, and places very different from our own - a true adventure. The History Department focuses on the connections between various cultures and regions of the world, and on individualized attention to students. We aim to cultivate writing, research, and analyti

Explore this page and our website to learn more about our unique approach and to view our wide range of courses, which cover the globe and span the centuries. You will also find information about our programs leading to the BA, MA, and PhD degrees in History, as well as information on the current research our faculty and students are pursuing.
