Attention all journalism students and soon-to-be graduates!!!

Just a friendly reminder:

Our mentors SPJ Detroit is hosting an awards banquet on Wednesday, April 17. Tickets can be purchased on the website.

Al Allen (who retired from Fox 2) and Ron Dzwonkowski (who retired from The Detroit Free Press) will be receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards among other attendees who'll also receive Excellence in Journalism awards from a variety of categories.

"This banquet is the ‘Oscar night’ for Metro Detroit journalists," according to Walter Middlebrook, chapter president and assistant managing editor of The Detroit News.

It's a great opportunity to network!
