NTID Alumni Relations is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Emerging Alumni Leader Award, Community Enrichment Leader Award, and Alumni Entrepreneurial Leader Award.

The 2026 Alumni Awards recipients are:

• Emerging Alumni Leader Award: Dr. Amie Fornah Sankoh ’14 (laboratory science technology), ’17 (biochemistry)

• Community Enrichment Leader Award: Fred Hartman ’82 (applied computer technology), ’84 (business administration)

• Alumni Entrepreneurial Leader Award: Clement So ’06 (business administration - management)

Join us Thursday, April 23, from 7:00–8:30 p.m. for an evening with RIT/NTID alum and internationally recognized artist Christine Sun Kim, part of NTID’s Edmund Lyon Memorial Lectureship Series at the RIT Performing Arts Center.

Kim, an American artist based in Berlin, explores how sound operates in society, examining the politics of sound and how spoken and signed languages function as social currency. Working across drawing, performance, video, and large-scale murals, her work reflects language, environment, and lived experience.

Her work has been featured internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art (2025), Gwangju Biennale (2023), Secession Vienna (2023), Queens Museum (2022), the Drawing Center (2022), Museum für Moderne Kunst (2021), and Manchester International Festival.

Admission is free and open to the public; registration is required. Interpreting services have been requested.

Jacquline “Jackie” Williams, an RIT/NTID alum, is featured in a recent column by Adonia K. Smith highlighting her journey from the Georgia School for the Deaf to NTID and beyond.

Please join us in congratulating RIT/NTID alum Charmaine Jacobs Hlibok ’94 (professional and technical communication), who has been named NTID’s 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award winner.

Hlibok is a dedicated educator and leader with more than 25 years of experience in deaf education, language development, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement. She served as principal of the elementary department at Maryland School for the Deaf, Columbia Campus from 2018 until she retired in June 2025.
