Noelle Lazor '26G went from professional dancer to a doctor of physical therapy! We chatted with her about her time at Naz and what's next!

1. What prompted the career change?
"I have a bachelor of fine arts degree in dance and danced professionally for years in New York City. I love performing, and I still perform, but there was a moment onstage one New Year's Eve when I realized that a performance career required missing holidays and big events with family and friends."

2. What lessons will you take with you from your Nazareth years?
β€œ...With everything I’ve gone through, I now realize β€˜your best’ is different day to day…”

3. What's next?
"I will be starting work at Evolve Physical Therapy of Rochester on June 1 and working towards my Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification!"

Today we honor and remember the more than one million Americans who have died in military service to the nation β€” including many who worked and studied at Nazareth. These brave individuals are the very definition of sacrifice. On this special day, and every day, let us remember all those who paid the ultimate price in service to our nation.

We were proud to honor our founders, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Rochester, who established the college-turned-university more than 100 years ago, by granting the SSJ congregation an honorary degree at our 2026 Commencement ceremony. SSJ President Sister Mary Lou Mitchell accepted the honor on behalf of the congregation and was also the keynote speaker for Nazareth's three Commencement ceremonies.

Samantha Luba '26 majored in public health and dance studies at Naz. We asked her about her college experience and what's next!

1. Best experience in college?
"One of the most incredible athletic experiences I had was getting to compete at the NCAA D3 Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, in March 2026. I had such an awesome time, and it was a surreal experience getting to compete with the best athletes in the country. I have also gotten to travel to Orlando and Daytona, Florida, for UDA and NDA National Dance Competitions with the Dance Team."

2. What are you most looking forward to in your life's work?
"I am most looking forward to working with athletes and performers and helping them get back on their feet after an injury. Nazareth has allowed me to participate in many different athletic teams and disciplines, as well as shadow our athletic trainers, which has given me a multitude of experiences and opportunities to learn from going into my professional career."

3. What's next?
"I am attending the University at Buffalo to get my master’s in Athletic Training."
