Join the Office of Engagement and Enrichment for the 25th Annual Tana Grady-Weliky Lecture to honor Dr. Grady-Weliky, former University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry Senior Associate Dean for Education and Department of Psychiatry faculty member. This year’s lecturer is Dr. Russell J. Ledet, MD, PhD, MBA, a Triple Board resident physician at the Indiana University School of Medicine. As Co-Founder and Chairman of The 15 White Coats, Dr. Ledet transforms his journey into mentorship and opportunity for future physicians nationwide. Minister, civil rights leader, author, and social justice advocate Reverend Dr. William Barber II keynotes the 25th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Address in Douglass Commons Feldman Ballroom on January 29, 2026. Reverend Dr. Barber is President and Senior Lecturer of Repairers of the Breach and Co-Chair of the Poor People’s Campaign. More than 300 people from the University and Rochester community attended the lecture.

What a Day! Boundless Together 2025 Was a Huge Success

On October 3rd, the University of Rochester hosted its Annual Boundless Together Conference at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center — and it was nothing short of inspiring. This year’s theme, “Meeting the Moment,” brought together students, faculty, alumni, and community members for a powerful day of learning, reflection, and connection.

Key Highlights:
Michele Norris, Peabody Award-winning journalist and MSNBC Senior Contributing Editor, delivered a moving keynote on race, identity, and the power of honest dialogue.

Harriet Washington ’76, acclaimed author of Medical Apartheid, joined President Sarah Mangelsdorf for a thought-provoking fireside chat on ethics, advocacy, and the importance of historical awareness.

Attendees engaged in 22 breakout sessions led by campus and community experts, exploring topics like community building, belonging, and personal and collective well-being.

Together, we asked:
What do I need to know to understand this moment?
What can I do to respond to this moment?
How can I care for myself and my community as we do this work?
