We are excited to partner with the Division Adolescent Medicine at University of Rochester Medical Center to offer The Body Project. The Body Project is a 4-week, evidenced-based body acceptance program offered in a group setting that provides a safe space for all women to confront and challenge unrealistic appearance ideals through group discussion and interactive activities!

The program seeks to give participants knowledge in developing a healthier body image and self-esteem. Open to all women who are undergraduate and graduate students. Non-binary students are welcome, but this course focuses more on topics regarding societal ideals of femme-presenting bodies than on topics related to gender identity and expression.

This is a 4-week class that will meet beginning October 4th from 4-5 PM in the University Health Service 4th floor Ralph A. Manchester Room. Giveaways included in participation!

Today, on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, we join a worldwide celebration of s*xual and gender diversity. Hate has no place on our campus, and while we do have a long way to go, you can help by being an active ally and fighting against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia. Listen to your LGBTQ+ peers. Be open and willing to accept criticisms from those around you. Speak up, but not over, our LGBTQ+ friends.

April is STI Awareness Month so today we are going to cover common myths surrounding STIs.
The first myth being that if you are on birth control you do not need to wear a condom. Numerous methods of birth control do not protect against STIs so it is always important to be practicing safer s*x in order to prevent the spread of STIs by wearing a condom.
A second myth is that people should be ashamed of having an STI. This is not true and the more people destigmatize the conversation around s*x and STIs the better we can work to limit their spread. It is also important to let any of your recent s*xual partners know if you have contracted an STI so they can also go get tested.
The last myth is that if you have no symptoms you must not have an STI therefore there is no reason to get tested. This is false, many STIs can be asymptomatic and lead to you spreading them without even realizing it. For this reason it is super important to get tested after each new s*xual partner you have!
