Remembering Our Brother, Dr. David A. “Sankofa” Anderson

The Brothers of Eureka Lodge No. 36 proudly pay tribute to the memory of our esteemed Brother, Dr. David A. “Sankofa” Anderson, a man whose life was devoted to education, service, culture, and community.

Brother Anderson used his gifts to enlighten others and strengthen the community around him. His passion for African American history and his commitment to sharing the stories of our ancestors made him a respected teacher and treasured source of wisdom throughout Rochester and beyond.

As Brothers, we are grateful to have shared the bond of Brotherhood with a man who gave so much of himself in service to others. The knowledge he shared, the lives he influenced, and the example he set will remain part of his lasting contribution to our community.

We offer our love and prayers to the Anderson family and all who knew and loved our dear Brother.

Brother Dr. David A. “Sankofa” Anderson has laid down his working tools, but the impact of his labor will remain with us for generations.

May he rest in eternal peace.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BROTHER EMERSON U. FULLWOOD & VERNITA FULLWOOD!

The Brothers of Eureka Lodge No. 36 proudly congratulate our longtime Brother, Emerson U. Fullwood, and his lovely wife, Vernita Fullwood, on the remarkable honor of having the Emerson U. and Vernita Fullwood Academic Center at Monroe Community College named in recognition of their extraordinary legacy.

For decades, Brother Fullwood and Mrs. Fullwood have demonstrated what it truly means to invest in people, education, and community. Through their leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for others, they have helped open doors for countless students and families throughout the Rochester community.

On August 19, 2026, Monroe Community College honored that legacy by dedicating one of its most important academic spaces in their names—a lasting tribute that will impact generations of students for years to come.

As Brothers of Eureka Lodge No. 36, we take tremendous pride in celebrating Brother Fullwood, a longtime and distinguished member of our Lodge, and his wife for this well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations, Brother Emerson and Vernita! May your names continue to inspire excellence, service, education, and opportunity for generations to come.

Late post, but the memories were too good not to share.

Despite the heavy rain, the Brothers of Eureka Lodge #36 F.& A.M. PHA - Rochester New York, along with our friends, family, and 7th District PHAmily, packed into a tight space and still had an amazing time at our Beer Blast & Corn Hole Tournament Fundraiser this past May.

Apparently, a little rain wasn't enough to keep anyone from showing off their co****le skills—or their competitive spirit.

Congratulations to the Brothers of Eureka Lodge #36 F.& A.M. PHA - Rochester New York for taking home the championship belt and earning some well-deserved bragging rights until next year.

Congratulations to the Brothers of Ionic Lodge No. 88 PHA for coming in second.

A special thank you to our Junior Deacon, Bro. Ronnie Crawford, for coordinating a fantastic event and making sure everything came together, rain and all.

Rain or shine, fellowship always wins.
