OU Business Scholars team members exercised their decision-making and analytical skills as they evaluated the merits of investing for social impact in their latest case competition. The Red Team walked away the winner due to its “thorough analysis and understanding that advising companies they invest in is simply good business for a venture capital firm,” says Professor Michael Greiner, Ph.D., one of the judges.

Congratulations to Emma Harrison, Navneet Dhami, Kurtis Jackson and Mariella Simoncini for their outstanding work.

The Scholars teams appreciate the time and insight from the judges Drs. Greiner, Joy Jiang and Meaghan Cole; and OU Business and Scholars alum Phil Johnson. SERVING COMMUNITY: Neither pandemic nor cold could prevent OU Business Scholars from assisting at the Waterford location of Lighthouse, a non-profit which helps fight food insecurity.

On a Saturday in December Business Scholars Jesse Bischer, Alex Green, Alexis Harp, Erin McElreath, Madelyn Rogers, Mariella Simonici and Penny Howard, along with Scholars mentors and alumni Dave Bork and Skylar Pickard, and Experiential Programs Manager Meaghan Cole sorted items to provide 160 families with a week’s worth of necessary food and specialty items, such as diapers.

MAKING AN IMPACT: Congratulations to OU Business School Associate Dean Nivedita Mukherji who was honored as a 2020 Trailblazer by t.Lab, a high performance learning laboratory for pre-k through undergraduate college students. Recognized for serving as a catalyst and facilitator of t.Lab’s Advanced Math Curriculum, Dr. Mukherji also provided t.Lab students with the opportunity to attend an international business summer camp. We are proud of Dr. Mukherji’s work and applaud this well-deserved recognition of the regional and global impact of her commitment to education.

t.Lab is honored to present Dr. Nivedita Mukherji, Associate Dean at Oakland University, as one of its Trailblazer, representing the class of 2020.
