Dr. Scott Amundsen recently presented at the Mid-Atlantic Institute in Washington, D.C. with two prior service members: Kevin Taylor, current BPS student and Green Beret, and John Christian, Psy. D. with the U.S. Government.

Their presentation was on “Coaching Mid-Career Adult Learners and Veterans”, which is a topic they will be publishing on in the near future.

Winthrop Elevate, South Carolina’s first Competency-based Education (CBE) programs for working adults, has signed its first industry partnership with Rock Hill’s Affinity Health Center.

With this three-year partnership, Affinity Health Center’s 100 employees and their family members will have the opportunity to pursue a degree via Winthrop Elevate at their own speed and on their own timeframe.

Hunter is the Recruiter & Communications Coordinator for the full School of Graduate, Continuing, and Online Education. See more information about her in the photos or text below.

➡️ Her education includes an MA in Arts Administration from Winthrop University (Class of 2022) and a BA in Studio Art from Columbia College, SC.

➡️ She was a student at Winthrop for 2 years and has since worked at Winthrop University for just over 2 years.

➡️ Her favorite thing about the BPS program is how affordable and convenient it is! She thinks the CBE model makes degree completion so much more accessible for adult learners.

➡️ Fun Fact: Hunter is a South Carolina native! She grew up in Walterboro, SC, and her family stretches all across the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Check the photos to see her at Botany Bay a few years back!

➡️ Her education includes an MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University and a BA in Anthropology from Clarion University.

➡️ She has worked at Winthrop University for 5 years.

➡️ Her favorite thing about the BPS program is the students! She really enjoys working with students from a variety of backgrounds and helping them achieve the goal of finishing their bachelor’s degree.

➡️ Fun Fact: Allison enjoys reading in her spare time! Her favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction.
