9 days. Countless masterpieces. 1 unforgettable classroom.

✨ Earlier this summer 15 students stepped off a boat and into Venice, where every canal, church, and gallery tells a story. Led by the amazing duo of Fine Arts Professors Stephanie Sutton and Kyle Sweeney, the trip took students from the Middle Ages to the future of the contemporary art world.

Along the way, they experienced:
🖼️ 6 art museums and collections
🌍 4 different islands across the Venetian lagoon
🍽️ 3 group dinners
⛪️ 3 medieval and Renaissance church tours
🧑‍🎨 2 days at the Biennale (world’s largest contemporary art exhibition)
🍝 Pasta-making class
🎭 Carnivale mask-making workshop
🎨 Traditional glassblowing demo
🍦 All the gelato
📷 Thousands of photographs
💛 Countless unforgettable memories

In October, the students' work will be featured in an exhibition in the Lewandowski Gallery, giving the campus community an opportunity to experience Venice through their eyes.

Inspirar is a non-profit choir that consists of professional singers and is conducted by Winthrop's very own Dr. Jeremy Mims! You can see this group perform tonight at First Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.

Others representing Winthrop in tonight's performance include Dr. Kristen Wunderlich (soloist), Dr. Jeff McEvoy (soloist), Dr. Craig Allen, Prof. NeTorrian Patton, and Dr. Cory High (percussionist).
