What does real-world engineering look like before graduation? For CPSE seniors, it starts with capstone.
This fall, our seniors completed ENEB408A: Capstone Design Lab I taught by Dr. Nestor Michael Tiglao, the first course in a two-semester, industry-aligned capstone sequence in the Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering (CPSE) program. Students don’t just learn theory, they identify real problems, design system-level solutions, and build working prototypes that integrate hardware, software, sensing, and intelligence.
In the upcoming spring semester, these teams continue into Capstone Design Lab II, refining, testing, and validating their systems, mirroring the workflow of professional engineers before graduation.
Why does this matter for prospective students? CPSE students graduate with:
- Hands-on experience solving open-ended, real-world problems
- Confidence working across IoT, embedded systems, software, and AI
- A portfolio-ready capstone project that demonstrates engineering maturity
👏 Congratulations to our seniors on reaching this milestone.
