Meet Joseph McIntosh ‘26 🩺

While balancing a demanding career in the hospital, Joseph earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Wesleyan putting what he learned in the classroom into practice every day.

“The pacing of the program and the ability to plan ahead made balancing school, work, and personal life much easier. My instructors were outstanding—supportive, responsive, and understanding of the challenges faced by working students.”

After graduation, Joseph plans to teach RN and LPN clinical courses while continuing as a CNA instructor at his local community college. His long-term goal is to become a clinical educator and eventually teach at the university level, helping prepare the next generation of nurses.

Congratulations, Joseph! 💙 Your passion for nursing education is already making a difference, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll have on the future of healthcare.

You inspire us, Debbie!

✨ Alumni Spotlight: Debbie Crawford (‘26)

At 62 years old, Debbie Crawford proved that it’s never too late to achieve a dream.

After putting college on hold to raise two children as a young widow, Debbie returned to school at age 57 with one goal: finish what she started and show her children that perseverance has no age limit.

Balancing a full-time career, family responsibilities, and coursework wasn’t easy, but NC Wesleyan’s Adult & Professional Studies Program and flexible 8-week online courses gave her the opportunity to succeed.

In 2026, Debbie graduated with honors, earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration 45 years after graduating high school.

Today, Debbie works as an Accounting Technician in the Finance & Business Office at NC State University’s Libraries and looks forward to the new opportunities her degree will bring.

Her advice to anyone considering going back to school?
“You are never too old to complete a dream, start a new dream, and reach for the stars.” 💙
