Library collections aren't intended to sit on shelves: They're meant to be used, by students, by researchers, and by the community. Recently, a 1978 oral history of Frank Quan from the SSU library's North Bay Ethnic Archive was included within the China Camp Village virtual experience, produced by CyArk, a nonprofit organization based in Oakland, in collaboration with California State Parks and the Friends of China Camp.

The experience launched just last week, and it's well worth exploring: https://www.cyark.org/projects/china-camp/tapestry2. You can learn more about the library's North Bay Ethnic Archive here: https://library.sonoma.edu/research/specialcollections/our-collections/north-bay-ethnic-archive.

It’s time for some Truth & Justice! LYP was created to serve students who had never been served before. Students were disengaged from school and their education. They didn’t have place to feel home at school. So we built a new garden together.

This poster was one of the first things one would see upon entering every LYP classroom. Many adults always had a hard time understanding why our program was so successful. It was very simple for us.: “When a flower doesn’t bloom you fix the environment in which it grows. Not the flower” - Alexander Den Heijer
