The Sonoma State University received a $5.45 million U.S. Department of Education grant to fund a program aimed at solving rural teacher shortages in Lake and Mendocino counties.

The initiative is being organized with the collaboration of Mendocino College and four local school districts, including Ukiah Unified and Round Valley Unified.
