We came together as only WGS does—founding faculty like JJ Wilson and Ann Neel (from the 1970s), alumni from 2000-2025, and our last class of 2026. Rage, sadness, & joy in equal measure. As we began, is as we go out—bright like a comet. Naming all who came before us, acknowledging our present, and knowing our alumni continue to shine and represent WGS on into the future.

She has provided direct care for folks experiencing homelessness and opiod dependency, and now focuses on the healthcare system and statewide Medicaid policies and programs. Come join us next Tuesday via Zoom to hear from WGS alum Edinna Obaseki (‘24). Double majoring in Biology, Edinna is the founder of a non-profit Grace Period (serving unhoused folx in Oakland), a birth doula, and is Care Coordinator for nonprofit The Gemma Project(serving incarcerated and formerly
