⭐ Meet the Board: Hugh Kind ⛏

We're proud to introduce Hugh Kind, Area 1 Director on the Missouri S&T Alumni Association Board. Hugh earned a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1976 and later completed an MBA at Baldwin Wallace College in 1980.

Hugh has remained actively engaged in the metals and casting industries through his involvement with several professional organizations, including the American Foundry Society, Casting Industry Suppliers Association, Ductile Iron Society, and Foundry Educational Foundation.

Hugh and his wife, Charlotte, have two daughters, Kari and Lisa, and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren: Hayden, Ava, Mike, Madison, and Morgan.

What does the impact of a scholarship look like?

This week, 1,207 students participated in our Scholarship Thank You Sessions, taking time over four days to write personal notes to the alumni and donors who have invested in their success.

These messages of gratitude tell stories of opportunity, ambition, and achievement made possible through donor support. To our alumni and friends who give back: thank you for helping students pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.

⭐Meet the Board: Chris Yarnell, P.E.⛏

A Missouri S&T graduate, Chris has built a distinguished career in engineering, public works, construction, and infrastructure management. Throughout his professional journey, he has held leadership roles with Cole County Public Works, Jefferson Asphalt Company, and Engineering Surveys & Services, where he has helped communities move important projects forward through strategic planning and collaboration.

Chris brings decades of experience and a deep commitment to service to the board. His passion for supporting future generations of Miners and strengthening connections among alumni helps advance the mission of the Miner Alumni Association and Missouri S&T.

Please join us in thanking Chris for his leadership, dedication, and continued service to the S&T community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us aboard the Miss Augusta on July 24 for an evening on the Missouri River! 🚢

We enjoyed a delicious dinner, beautiful views and, most importantly, the opportunity to reconnect and spend time with fellow Miners.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a memorable one. We hope to see you at another Miner Alumni Association event soon!
