Clinical Practice Orientation

✈️ To bring our journey to a fun landing, Dr. King led a lively left-right story activity that had everyone laughing as they prepared to taxi to the gate and conclude the day. The students circled up to pass their souvenirs from left to right as quickly as possible.
As these future educators prepare for takeoff into their student teaching placements, they are carrying with them important lessons, new friendships, and a commitment to helping every student soar. We can’t wait to watch where their flight path leads this year!

Clinical Practice Orientation

🛫 During the “Runway to Success” activity, Dr. Washington challenged candidates to think carefully about the dangers of placing labels on students before truly getting to know them. It was a powerful reminder that every student deserves a fresh start and a teacher who sees their potential.

✈️ Ready for Takeoff! ✈️

Our teacher candidates had a first-class experience at Soaring into Student Teaching as they prepared to launch into Clinical Practice! From striking their best pilot poses in aviator glasses and captain’s hats to participating in meaningful activities, the day was packed with learning, laughter, and a few important flight lessons.

On Monday, July 20, our future educators gathered at Shorter University for Clinical Practice Orientation and officially began their final flight plan toward the classroom! With our “Soaring Into Student Teaching” themed kickoff, these student teachers are cleared for takeoff and ready to make an impact in schools across our region.

They are ready to embark on this exciting chapter of their educational journey. We can’t wait to watch them soar as they inspire, lead, and learn alongside their cooperating teachers this year!

We wish to express our gratitude for our amazing P-12 partnership school districts including Floyd County Schools, Rome City Schools, Gordon County Schools, Calhoun City Schools, Bartow County Schools, Cartersville City Schools, Polk County Schools, and Chattooga County School. Thank you for hosting a senior Teaching Hawk this academic year!
