The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Accra will be temporarily closed to the public from July 20 through July 31, 2026, for scheduled maintenance. During this period, we will be unable to process visas and other consular services, except in life-or-death emergencies. The Embassy has rescheduled all visa appointments that were to take place during this period.

Hello everyone!

I’m Avla Tani, the new Graduate Assistant for International Enrollment. I am currently pursuing my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Business Analytics at Lewis University.

I arrived at Lewis University in August 2025 from Côte d’Ivoire. One of the main reasons I chose Lewis was its strong Catholic values. My faith is very important to me, and I wanted to be part of a community whose mission and values reflected my own.

Since coming to Lewis, I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people from different cultures and backgrounds. These friendships and connections have made my experience here even more meaningful, and I look forward to continuing to build lasting relationships throughout my journey.

As a Graduate Assistant in International Enrollment, I work with prospective international students and help guide them through the admissions process. I enjoy supporting students as they take their first steps toward becoming Lewis Flyers!

I am truly grateful to be part of the Lewis community, especially the International Enrollment team, and I am excited for the opportunities and experiences ahead.
