Community Engaged Learning at Lewis University is an experiential pedagogy in which faculty and community partners co-determine structured opportunities for students to meet academic learning outcomes and contribute to goals in the community. Community Engaged Learning experiences are integrated with course materials, activities and directed reflection that enable students to practice social and civic responsibility while deepening disciplinary knowledge and skills.

Through the Lewis University Community Schools Consortium, our students are gaining hands-on experience while supporting students, families, and our local school communities.

From Moving Minds and Muscles (MMM) at Brooks Middle School to program facilitation and front office support at Fairmont School, each of these students plays an important role in strengthening the connection between Lewis University and our community school partners. 🤝
