The Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery opened in February 2013. The Department of Art and Design anticipates that the gallery will support programming including, but not limited to: Lewis University student shows, local and regional artists shows, an annual high school show, faculty shows, academic based exhibitions, and cultural and religious based art shows. Collaborations with music and other academic departments will also be a part of the gallery programming. We are extremely excited for this opportunity and hope you take advantage of this unique experience.

"My Town, My Country" by Lewis Alumnus Bill Bartelt ('70)

Closing Reception and Gallery Talk: October 22, 7pm

Bill Bartelt grew up in Joliet, the son of a farm dealer, in the days when it was still both a “cow town” and a “railroad town.” The fascination for both has never left him. During a Chicago career in show business, Bill painted the rails, bridges, and water tanks that he first loved as a kid. Travels around the countryside kept him close to
his rural roots, and the hills, forests and rivers have kept him sustained and
inspired.
