Congratulations to third-year medical student Julie L. Centofanti, who joins the NEOMED Board of Trustees as a student member! Appointed by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Julie will serve through June 29, 2028, bringing valuable leadership experience and a strong commitment to the NEOMED community.

As a student trustee, Julie will help bring the student perspective to conversations shaping the future of NEOMED. She is eager to connect with students across the University, collaborate with University leaders and faculty, and advocate for initiatives that help students achieve their professional and personal goals.

From setting up their stations to getting their hands on the instruments, students in the Bitonte College of Dentistry are diving into their first weeks of hands-on learning!

The simulation lab is where classroom knowledge starts to come to life. Students have been outfitting their stations with new instruments, getting fitted for their loupes and beginning to build the skills they’ll use throughout their dental careers.

It's been a great year of firsts, milestones and momentum for the Bitonte College of Dentistry!

In a reflection on the College’s inaugural year, Dean Sorin Teich, D.M.D., M.B.A., shares the people and moments that made year one possible — from the dedication of faculty and staff and the resilience of the inaugural class to the support of the NEOMED community and the Bitonte family.

And while there’s plenty to celebrate already, the biggest milestone is still ahead: watching the College’s first class walk across the stage at graduation in 2029.
