Some 2,000 scientists, including dozens of Nobel Prize winners, have signed an open letter warning that the U.S. lead in science is being "decimated" by the Trump administration's cuts to research.

"It is vital to remember that it is the words and actions of all members of the scientific community—universities, journals, societies, associations, activists, and scientists—that form the collective voice of science, not any one statement," writes H. Great time at AAIC in Philly and I learned a lot. For the first time in my short 11 years working in the Alzheimer’s field, I saw equal if not more research emphasis on tau pathology—amyloid’s longtime but often ignored partner in crime. Any truly impactful disease modifying therapy must address both mechanisms and more, and now we are on our way!

This is outrageous. Passage of this bill directly ignores all scientific evidence and best medical practices, so the only possible rationale for Ohio Senate/House doing this is evil bigotry and aggressive stupidity. Ohio lawmakers should pick on someone their own size instead of bullying transgender kids and their parents. In fact, maybe Ohio healthcare providers should fight back by refusing to provide treatment to these senators and their families for let’s say, cancer, diabetes, and depression—comparable threats to the lives and well-being of patients when not permitted treatment. Thank you, Mike Dewine for trying to override this hate but the aggressive ignorance in our state is strong.

The law, combined with a pending set of administrative rules, could make Ohio one of the most restrictive states for transition-related medical care for minors and adults.
