A Dean’s commencement wish for Rosemont College’s 2026 graduates!

ā€œGo Liveā€

May you chase the roads that scare you,
take the turns without a map.
May you learn that some of life’s best chapters
begin in the aftermath.

May you fail at something worthy,
wear the bruises without shame.
May you stand back up with wiser hands
and still go play the game.

May your heart be cracked wide open,
not from sorrow—but from grace.
May you find that love is strongest
when it asks you to make space.

May you build, and break, and rebuild.
May you question what you know.
May you be both fierce and gentle,
strong enough to let things go.

May your voice defend the quiet.
May your hands lift someone near.
May your courage not be measured
by the absence of your fear.

May you laugh until you can’t breathe,
cry when something moves your soul.
May you dance in kitchens, sing off-key,
and never trade your joy for control.

May your title never define you,
nor your paycheck be your worth.
May the measure of your legacy
be the good you leave on earth.

And when years have stretched between this day
and the dreams you’re chasing now,
may you look back—not for what you gathered—
but for the lives you helped somehow.

So go be bold.
Go be kind.
Go be curious.
Go be the light in someone’s hard night.

And most of all—

Don’t simply make a living.

Go make a life.

Be Bold!
