🎥 NEWS10 ABC is taking a closer look at the new legislation I’ve introduced to protect essential hospital services when health care noncompete agreements threaten a community’s access to care 🏥

‼️ The ongoing dispute involving Ellis Medicine, St. Peter’s Health Partners and 27 cardiologists who have provided care in our community shows exactly why this legislation is needed. Patients should not be caught in the middle, and access to health care should never be put at risk 🩺⚕️

Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight in Rotterdam for our Wandering Prevention & Response Workshop.

We brought families together with the Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office and BluePath Service Dogs to share information about wandering prevention, safety planning, Project Lifesaver, service dogs and other resources that can help families be better prepared for an emergency.

I also shared information about my new legislation to create a New York State Take Me Home Program, giving families another voluntary tool to help first responders quickly access important information when every minute counts.

A special thank you to Tracy Schober and all of tonight’s presenters and organizations for sharing their knowledge and resources with families.

📞 If you couldn’t attend or would like additional information or resources, please contact my office at 518-382-2941. We’re here to help connect families with the resources they need.

TONIGHT, I’ll be talking about my New York State Take Me Home legislation as we bring families, first responders and advocates together at the Rotterdam Community Center for our Wandering Prevention & Response Workshop.

My legislation will create a voluntary statewide program to help families be better prepared for an emergency by making important information about a loved one who may wander, become lost or have difficulty communicating readily available to first responders.

Tonight, families can also learn about other helpful programs like Project Lifesaver and other safety resources, along with practical steps for wandering prevention and emergency planning.

📍 Rotterdam Community Center, 705 Curry Road

🕡 Tonight, August 31st | 6:30–8:30 PM

The Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office will be there with information about Project Lifesaver, and Tracy Schober from the Autism Society Greater Hudson Region will lead our discussion on wandering prevention and safety.

Please join us! Being prepared can make an important difference when every minute counts 💙
