Roxbury Community College is a co-educational public institution of higher education offering Associate Degrees and certificate programs. RCC's primary objective is to provide residents of the Commonwealth, specifically those individuals living in the greater Boston area, "optimum opportunity for access to a college education consistent with their interests and aptitudes and to reduce to a minimum

economic, social, psychological and academic barriers to educational opportunity." The college's goals are the result of ideas generated by and from the college community and reflect a response to the needs of the larger Roxbury community. A community-based Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts works with the College's President to ensure that Roxbury Community College is an effective educational institution providing a strong vehicle for the community to grow and prosper.

We're proud to launch the first program of its kind in Massachusetts — a multipronged AI initiative built to meet our community where the future is headed. 🤖📚

Starting this September, our FREE 3-part AI training course gives you the chance to earn a certificate AND 2 college credits — no cost, no barriers, just opportunity.

And we're not stopping there. Building on that foundation, we're rolling out:

✅ MassEducate & MassReconnect: MA residents without a bachelor's degree can attend RCC for free — no tuition, no fees
✅ Merit-based, need-based, and new-student scholarships available
✅ Boston residents with a recent BPS diploma, HiSET, or GED may qualify for the Tuition-Free Community College Plan or Boston Bridge at RCC

🌳On Friday we celebrated the grand opening of our brand-new 10,000-sq-ft Pocket Park with a ceremony and community cookout — a project made possible by so many hands.💚

A heartfelt thank you to RCC President Dr. Jonathan Jefferson and RCC Board Chair Dr. Richard O'Bryant, for their leadership on this project, and to State Senator Liz Miranda, Diana Fernandez Bibeau Boston Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, Deputy Chief of Open Space, and City Councilor Miniard Culpepper for joining us and championing this green space for our community.

Thank you also to the City of Boston for $450K in Community Preservation Act funding, and to everyone who came out to vote on a name for the park — stay tuned, we'll announce it soon!

This green space is more than a nice-to-have — it's an investment in the health and well-being of our community. Thank you for building it with us. 🙌
