Earlier this spring, Dr. Mike Waller, professor and Health & Exercise Science program director in the Arkansas Tech University Department of Kinesiology & Rehabilitation Science, presented at the 2026 Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association National Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.

His presentation, "Planning and Programming for DII Women's Sprints and Throws," shared training and programming strategies for collegiate student-athletes.

Also attending the conference were KRS instructor James DiNaso and undergraduate student Belen Sanchez. While there, they had the opportunity to connect with several Arkansas Tech alumni working in the field, including Madisyn Hudson, Joshua Poahway, Gabriel Mason, and Andy Lakmann.

We are proud to see our faculty, students, and alumni representing Arkansas Tech and contributing to the strength and conditioning profession across the country. 💚💛

"She taught us far more about what it means to be a nurse than any textbook ever could."

Colleagues, friends and students of the late Dr. Susan Self have established a scholarship for Arkansas Tech University nursing students in her memory.

The Dr. Susan Self Memorial Scholarship will be offered through the ATU Foundation.

Dr. Self began her association with the ATU Department of Nursing in 2008 as an adjunct clinical instructor. She became a full-time member of the ATU Department of Nursing faculty in 2012 and attained the rank of associate professor of nursing before stepping down for health reasons in 2025. She passed away on Jan. 12, 2026.

Making an impact beyond campus! Way to go, Mrs. Holloway! 💛

Rattler Family, what a week of celebration it's been so far here at Magazine Schools. On Monday evening, we recognized and celebrated the achievements of our Rattler Scholars during our Scholars Banquet. We want to congratulate all of our first-, second-, third- and fourth-year Rattler Scholars for their academic achievement and give a special thank you to MHS alumna and 2013 MHS co-salutatorian/honor graduate Arielle (Loyd) Holloway for being our guest speaker. Holloway is an American Academy of Nurse Practitioners board certified nurse practitioner in Rheumatology with the Noydeen Medical Group in Conway, Ark., and an assistant professor of nursing at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and is pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Arkansas State.
