⚙️ to Arkansas!

Just two years into his Mechanical Engineering journey at Louisiana Tech, Zeke Burford is already putting his skills to work as a Process Operations Engineering Intern with CMC Steel Arkansas in Magnolia.

This summer, Zeke has helped to design and develop new ways to improve mill operations, increase efficiency, and make processes safer.

Zeke connected with CMC Steel through the Louisiana Tech Career Fair, proving that it’s never too early to start gaining real-world engineering experience.

Third-year Electrical Engineering student Casey Thibodeaux took her skills to Chicago this summer as an Electrical Engineering Intern with WSP.

Working in consulting and drafting, Casey gained hands-on industry experience while seeing how electrical engineering concepts move from the classroom to real-world projects. The connection started right here at Louisiana Tech, where Casey discovered the opportunity through the Louisiana Tech Career Fair.

John Sibley, a fifth-year Chemistry and Physics student, spent his summer conducting large-scale scientific research at Brookhaven's Upton, New York location through Stony Brook University.

John discovered the opportunity through an American Chemical Society (ACS) email and was encouraged by his advisor to apply.

Summer Spotlight 🌎

This summer, Zachary Chaisson, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student from Prairieville, Louisiana, is gaining hands-on industry experience through an internship with Forte & Tablada in nearby Baton Rouge.

Working just minutes from his hometown, Zachary is applying what he’s learned in the classroom while working alongside experienced engineers on real-world civil engineering projects. The opportunity came through a family connection, giving him valuable industry experience and helping prepare him for a successful career after graduation.

Mechanical Engineering third-year Emma Garlington is spending her summer in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, where she’s helping create unforgettable guest experiences at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe in Frontierland. The Disney College Program gives students the opportunity to gain professional experience while developing leadership, teamwork and customer service skills at one of the world’s premier entertainment destinations.
Whether she’s welcoming guests from around the globe or keeping the magic running behind the scenes, Emma is building skills that will serve her well throughout her engineering career.

Biomedical Engineering third-year student Cassidy Fixico is spending the summer gaining hands-on experience through an internship at The Institute of Exercise and Environmental Science in Dallas, Texas.
