"We created this program because we're experiencing a huge maternal health crisis nationally and locally," says Program Director and Assistant Clinical Professor Bethany Sasaki. The School of Health Sciences' new Midwifery program is designed to address California's maternal health care shortages by preparing registered nurses to become certified nurse-midwives. With 36 established clinical partner sites, including hospitals, birth centers, and home-birth settings, students can complete clinical training closer to home when possible. 🏠🥼
