A few glimpses from tonight’s Natomas Charter School - Leading Edge semi-final games. Congratulations to the 7th/8th grade flag football who won their game against Heron and will be headed into the finals on Thursday night at Natomas High at 3:30pm. 🖤❤️

We are so proud of our 7th/8th grade volleyball team that played a very strong game against Heron, going into a third match and losing by just a few points. They played their hearts out!

Spotlight on our LE Math Teacher Mrs. Williams, who is also an NCS alum!

To close the final day of September Alumni Celebrations, we are celebrating a very special group of graduates - the alumni who came back to NCS and continue to make it an exceptional school for the next generation of students. They embody one of our core values of preparing students to shape the future.

Our final alumni staff member celebration is Joanna Williams (PFAA c/o 2010 and Leading Edge 2003-2006), our Leading Edge 7th and 8th grade math teacher...and Star Academy parent.

Favorite NCS Memory: "I remember when math “clicked” for me in 8th grade at Leading Edge because of the amazing teacher I had - Mrs. Ferran (who later became my teacher mentor). In PFAA High School I remember being part of the music program with Mr. Spiva as my teacher, traveling to compete at Six Flags and different colleges nearby, and performing in the Benvenuti. I also loved being part of the band for different productions such as Fiddler on the Roof and Cinderella."

What Joanna Loves About NCS: "I love how tight-knit our community is and feeling completely welcomed as I returned to be part of the staff. As a math teacher, I feel like I can provide the same mindset and curiosity for my students that first got me interested in math when I was a student at Leading Edge."

Thank you Joanna for sharing your story and shaping the next generation of NCS graduates!
