University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law is a private, ABA-accredited law school in the Oak Park neighborhood of the city of Sacramento, California. Originally founded in 1924, the school merged with and became part of the University of the Pacific in 1966. The University also runs the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. The current dean of Pacific McGeorge School of Law is Michael Hunter Schwartz.

Distinguished Professor Jarrod Wong and Professor Mary-Beth Moylan have been appointed to new Associate Dean roles, effective July 1.

Wong has been named Associate Dean of Scholarship. In this role, he will support faculty members in advancing their scholarship and help increase the visibility of their work once published.

Moylan has been appointed McGeorge’s inaugural Associate Dean of Advocacy. She will work closely with the law school’s competition teams, including moot court, mock trial, negotiations, mediation and client counseling.

McGeorge School of Law alumni brothers Jeff Schaff ’09 and Jason Schaff ’06 secured a $28.1 million jury verdict for their client in a personal injury case. ⚖️

The brothers represented a retired Los Angeles firefighter who suffered life-altering injuries after being struck from behind by a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

“I think it’ll go down as one of the highlights of my career,” Jeff Schaff said. “Having a good relationship with my brother led us to sort of push each other in different directions and provide feedback on different areas, which was great.”
