As we reflect on the significance of this day, we also recognize the impact of Black women leaders who have shaped our communities through service, advocacy, education, and mentorship. Their leadership inspires future generations to dream bigger, lead boldly, and create meaningful change.

As we prepare to recognize Juneteenth, let’s take a look back at Sac State’s Juneteenth Celebration! ✨

Campus and community members came together to celebrate freedom, culture and community through live music, performances, food trucks, games, local vendors, campus resources, giveaways and more.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring Juneteenth and reflecting on its history and significance while celebrating the Black community at Sac State and beyond.

A special thank you to our event partners and organizers: Inclusive Excellence, the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, Black Honors College, Black Staff & Faculty Association, and the CSU Central Office for the Advancement of Black Student Success for helping make this celebration possible!

Sacramento State is adding 135 new course sections for Summer Session II and Fall 2026, creating more than 4,200 additional seats to help students get the classes they need and stay on track toward graduation.
