Sacramento State has secured nearly $150 million in combined California State University and private donor funding to construct a new state-of-the-art engineering building, marking a transformational investment in the University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The new facility will provide modern instructional, laboratory and collaborative spaces designed to expand hands-on learning, research, interdisciplinary collaboration and industry partnerships. It will also strengthen Sacramento State’s ability to prepare graduates for California’s growing engineering and technology workforce.

The building will be named the Ernest E. Tschannen Engineering Teaching and Research Building in recognition of a $15 million gift from philanthropist Ernest E. Tschannen.

This milestone reflects Sacramento State’s continued commitment to student success, academic excellence and workforce-focused education.
