A heartfelt farewell to Bonnie Beevers and Jeff Bingel! 🎉

Our College of Business community recently gathered to celebrate two remarkable colleagues as they begin their well-deserved retirements.

Bonnie concludes an incredible 35-year career in higher education, including 27 years in the California State University system and 25 years at Sacramento State. As director of the Office of Student Engagement, she has been a dedicated advocate for our students and has made a lasting impact on their college experience.

Jeff retires after an impressive 31 years of service. As a valued member of our IT team, his expertise, reliability, and support helped keep our college connected and running smoothly.

The celebration was filled with colleagues, friends, laughter, and fond memories—a fitting tribute to the extraordinary impact Bonnie and Jeff have made on our community.

Thank you both for your many years of dedicated service to Sacramento State and the College of Business. We wish you a joyful and fulfilling retirement! 💚💛

Last Friday, Sacramento State College of Business faculty and staff gathered at the Carlsen Center for our first retreat of the academic year—an energizing morning filled with thoughtful discussion, curiosity, and collaboration.

A special thank-you to our panelists, Paul Coccovillo, CMA, CSCA, Rafael Estrada, and Michael Champ, for sharing practical insights on incorporating AI into our work. Their message was clear: meaningful progress begins with a real task, real materials, and a willingness to experiment and iterate.

We left the retreat clear-eyed about the challenges ahead—and even more optimistic about what we can accomplish together. Here’s to a collaborative and impactful fall semester!

🌟 Student Spotlight: Kevin Bali 🌟

Meet Kevin Bali, a Business Honors student who's turning his passion for technology into a mission to protect communities. 💻🛡️

As a Business Administration major pursuing concentrations in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and HROB, along with a minor in Criminal Justice, Kevin is creating a unique path that bridges business, cybersecurity, and public service. 🚔🤖📊

Outside the classroom, Kevin serves as President of MISA and the newly established ISACA Student Chapter, where he's helping create opportunities for students interested in cybersecurity, leadership, and technology. 🌐👏

Kevin is also a National Science Foundation CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service recipient and works with the Franchise Tax Board, gaining hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure while preparing for a career in digital forensics. 🔍💼

His goal? To use technology to investigate cybercrime and help make communities safer. 🔐✨
