JOB TITLE: Graduate and International Admissions Student Employee (ID #4998277)
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide assistance to staff, greet walk-ins, support, and assist with clerical, customer service, and/or general labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Greet office visitors, answer the telephone and appropriately record messages.
· Schedule appointments for professional staff people.
· Communicate with people both internationally and domestically by phone, email, Facebook, text message, and CRM as assigned.
· Learn and stay updated about processes for different requests for graduate or international admissions.
· Assist with office tasks, record keeping, and communications in our Customer Relationship Management software
· Accurately and expeditiously collect, enter, and update data as needed.
· Utilize computer software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to complete tasks as assigned.
· Appropriately refer people to various resources (e.g. forms, professional staff, departments/offices on campus, etc.) and explain process/steps of certain pertaining to graduate or international admissions from students if necessary.
· Assist to organize, promote, and participate in events/activities, such as orientations, workshops, and career fairs
· Deliver documents to different departments/ offices/locations on campus.
· Perform general labor requiring minimal training and under the supervision of a full-time staff member(s).
· Work in a safe manner adhering to departmental guidelines and training.
· Dress appropriately for work/job requirements.
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Enrolled in SVSU classes as a degree-seeking student (excludes guest students)
· Fall and Winter: at least 6 credit hours each semester
· Spring / Summer: at least 6 credits total or be pre-registered for at least 6 credits for the upcoming Fall semester
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Departmental student employee supervisor and/or his/her designee
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: As assigned

· Work may be performed either outside or inside
· Work may require exposure to adverse conditions
