The impact of accessibility reaches far beyond accommodations. It creates pathways for connection, belonging, and growth. It sends a powerful message to our students: you matter, your experiences matter, and you have a place here. By fostering an environment where every student can participate, contribute, and thrive, we help build a stronger, more compassionate world for everyone.

At Saint Leo University, accessibility isn’t an afterthought... it’s a commitment.

Students with visual disabilities are supported through a variety of accommodations designed to promote independence, inclusion, and academic success. From accessible course materials (like screen-reader friendly documents and audiobooks) to assistive technology, alternative testing formats, and personalized support through Accessibility Services, Saint Leo ensures every student has the tools they need to thrive.

It’s all part of creating a learning environment where every voice is valued and every student can succeed.

🌟 Behind the Scenes Spotlight 🌟

Our Peer Mentors work hard every day to support our students, and today we’re showing some love to our Peer Mentor Lead, Yoland Joseph!

Yoland is always going above and beyond to help students however she can - with care, patience, and dedication. Whether she’s working one-on-one with students or helping them navigate resources, she brings a genuine passion for helping others thrive and it shows in everything she does.

And when she’s not working directly with students, she’s been the creative brain behind our social media this summer… keeping everything fresh, helpful, and engaging!

We are so grateful for her leadership, initiative, and heart for service. Thank you, Yoland, for all that you do!

🧠💬 June is Aphasia Awareness Month 💬🧠

Aphasia affects a person’s ability to communicate, but not their intelligence. It can impact speaking, understanding, reading, or writing - often after a stroke or brain injury.
Let’s build awareness, show patience, and create inclusive spaces where every voice is heard - no matter how it’s expressed. 💙

PTSD doesn’t always look the same... and in the classroom, it can show up in ways you might not expect.

Our office is here to help.
We work with students to create accommodations and strategies that support their success and well-being. If you or a student you know could benefit from support, please reach out. You are not alone and help is available.

Our office remains open throughout the summer, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are located in Suite 203 on the second floor of the Student Activities Building. You may also contact us by phone at (352) 588-8464 or via email at [email protected].
