SMWC Choir Alums: The funeral mass of Sister Laurette Bellamy will be Tuesday, February 27 at 11:00AM. If you plan to attend this mass, the current members of Chorale will be singing John Rutter's 'The Lord Bless You and Keep You' for the recessional hymn. If you sang this while a student of Laurette's at the Woods and would like to sing with the Chorale on this piece, please send me an email at [email protected] as soon as possible and he will send you rehearsal tools and have music ready for you that day.

Rest in Peace, Sister Laurette Bellamy, Ph.D.

She was an incredible woman. She was always a champion of music and a pioneer, starting the SMWC undergraduate music therapy program in 1983. She believed in her students and held them to high standards. They (we) wanted to excel in part to make her proud. She was a colleague who always had a listening ear and energy for a new endeavor. Most of all she was an incredible friend and mentor to so many.

We will miss her dearly💔

Sister Laurette Bellamy passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. She was 96 years old and had been a Sister of Providence for

Wrapped up another virtual residency for our MA in Music Therapy and Music Therapy Equivalency programs Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC)!!

So glad we transitioned our January residency to virtual a few years ago… especially with the dangerous cold weather across the country now!
