Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College MTED Program

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College MTED Program Started in 2012, Dr. Tracy Richardson created the concept of the first distance equivalency program of its kind in the field of music therapy.

The program draws upon the same type of model as the SMWC Master of Arts in Music Therapy Program, started in 2000. This program requires limited time on campus, works within a cohort model, and yet creates a sense of community and support. Director of Music Therapy: Dr. Tracy Richardson.

Wrapped up another virtual residency for our MA in Music Therapy and Music Therapy Equivalency programs Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC)!!

So glad we transitioned our January residency to virtual a few years ago… especially with the dangerous cold weather across the country now!

Thanks Larisa McHugh for all you do to coordinate the MTED program!

“Sacred music has literally been sung and played at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College since 1840," said Michael Boswell, associate professor of music and director of SMWC choirs. SMWC will be hosting a Sacred Music Festival from March 2, 3 and 4. The festival will feature renowned bass-baritone Marques Jerrell Ruff. Read more about the schedule for the festival.

Congratulations Dr. Larisa McHugh!

Congratulations to Dr. Larisa McHugh, MT-BC, who was able to participate in her PhD commencement ceremony this past week in person (delayed due to COVID). She presented her research and was awarded the Dissertation with Distinction at Saybrook University. McHugh has a PhD in Psychology, with a specialization in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Integrative Health.
